The Great Coffee Gathering 2018

The Great Coffee Gathering 2018

Though we live in year-round summer here in California, we hear that spring is in the air, which means the Specialty Coffee Association Expo is just around the corner. A brief explanation for non-coffee folks: the SCA Expo is a massive gathering of professionals from around the world who come together for a weekend packed with seminars, competitions, networking—and, of course, a lot of coffee.

We look forward to this event each year. It’s a time to reconnect with members of our coffee family, strengthen existing bonds, and forge new connections with the many amazing individuals who work in this industry. But, we have to admit, we’re particularly excited for this year’s event.

SCA Expo is a celebration of innovation and achievement, and we’ve got a lot to celebrate this year. Sexy new wares. New logo. New look for our website. An expanded effort to collaborate with our community. It’s been quite an effort, but the results are more than we could’ve imagined—and there so much more to come.

Come visit us!

We’ve had our heads down, working hard to expand our line of products and services for our ever-growing community, and Expo is our first opportunity to get our new wares into your hands. We want to you to come see them for yourselves: hold them, oogle them, love them. We’re pretty proud of these new hospitality wares and we’re eager to share them with you.

Seriously, it will be worth it...

If you follow us on Instagram (if you don’t, what are you waiting for!?), you’ve probably noticed that we’ve had a series of IG Story takeovers in the last few weeks. We’ve always been community oriented, and one of the goals of our rebrand was to underscore how much our brand is fueled by the creative community; and, we hope, vice versa.

In preparation for the SCA Expo, we reached out to one of our favorite creatives (and long-time coffee professional), Timber Charter, to help us create an interactive art installation for the show. We don’t want to give away all the details just yet, but we will say this much: 1) anyone attending the show has the opportunity to contribute their own inspiration to the installation, and 2) we can hardly contain our excitement for everyone to see it.

If you’re thinking about attending Expo for the first time, we highly recommend the experience. This gathering is huge, and it’s a wonderful way to make meaningful connections, learn some new stuff, and plunge deeper into the world of coffee.
